EDbU General Assembly (GA) and Conference
5.-9.6.2017, Tampere, Finland
Welcome to the EDbU GA that is held from 5th to 6th June and followed by 2nd EDbU Conference that is held from 7th to 9th June, 2017 at Scandic Hotel Rosendahl, Tampere, Finland.
Conference theme is “Our Way to Equality in Europe”.
The official language of the conference is English.
We are proud to announce that the President of the Republic of Finland, Mr. Sauli Niinistö is the official Patron of the EDbU GA and Conference as well as Deadblind Women’s Forum and Deadblind Youth Forum.
The conference will take place in the City of Tampere in the south-mid of Finland, 170 kilometres from Helsinki. From a Finnish perspective it is an old industrial town.
The conference venue is in Scandic Hotel Rosendahl which is a recently renovated conference hotel in a beautiful lakeside setting near the centre of Tampere and Särkänniemi Adventure Park. The hotel offers extensive recreational facilities, including a swimming pool. The hotel also has a large car park free of charge.
Each participant makes his/her hotel reservation directly to the hotel. Room reservation starts earliest January 2017. We will inform about the details and use of the discount code before that. Most possibly room reservation serves also as registration to the venue, but that will be confirmed later.
Shared double room in Scandic Rosendahl costs 110 euros per day (55 euros per person). Single rooms costs 105 euros per day. Conference package that includes lunch and afternoon coffee/tea costs 35,50/day.
Arrival and Departure
The participants can decide when they want to arrive and depart. The EDbU GA starts in the afternoon on 5th June 2017, thus it is recommended for participants attending the EDbU GA to arrive on Sunday, 4th June 2017 or in the morning on 5th June 2017, and for participants attending only the EDbU Conference to arrive on Tuesday, 6th June 2017. The Conference program will be closed with Conclusion and Closing Session on Friday, 9th June 2017.
Pirkkala International airport (Tampere, Finland) is the nearest airport. From Helsinki it is possible to travel to Tampere by train or by bus.
Unfortnately there will be no subsidies for deafblind participants from less wealthy circumstances.
